Weckenstone, an island of isolation and pride, has always revered the royal Tallmight line as divine. Yet when an enemy force invades—driven by a history Weckenstone tried to forget—the capital burns, and the Tallmight line shatters. The islanders are forced into a decades-long losing war, armed with little more than ancient magic and blind, desperate loyalty to their lords.
Tiber and Gwynn, heirs to the broken Tallmight line, are raised separately and unaware of their lineage or each other. Torn apart by the coup, they’re forged into battlemages in different corners of the island, preparing for a war buried in history and soaked in blood.
Privileged, adored, and raised on tales of valour, Tiber dreams of becoming the hero who saves everyone. But war leaves little room for heroes, only monsters in gilded armour. And after losing control, Tiber’s own destructive magic terrifies him more than his enemies ever could. Only the comfort of his closest friend keeps him tethered.
Gwynn knew no such comforts, scraping by in the lawless underground of a beautiful city, angry at the world and everyone in it. Resenting especially the rich and powerful, he searches for something—anything—to be proud of. Yet his abrasive nature pushes most away, except for his young tutor, the one person he dares to trust and care for.
As war drags on, Weckenstone’s proud ideals rot into corruption and tyranny. No side fights clean. Even children are sent to die—leaving behind a legacy of blood and a brutal inheritance for Tiber and Gwynn.
The Tallmights never had a clean past, though. And their enemy hasn’t forgotten how it was whitewashed by the victors. Those fighting for the future must reckon with the past, lest they remain cursed by it. Now, the twins must decide who to become, how they’ll lead. And whether their name is a legacy, or a curse buried in the echoes of the past.
Prophecies in the making

But if you can forgive me this planning horror, then here’s what the near future looks like for The King’s Pride saga. See book milestones, newsletter uploads, fun events, and of course publication dates of some magnificent stories!
