“Hello there! I’m Julius, or JBJ; a student of Politics, Philosophy, and History. Also a proud fantasy nerd, and longtime overthinker. I live in Rotterdam, where I spend my time bouncing between fictional worlds and real-time deadlines.

Since my teenage years, I’ve been building the world of The King’s Pride. With always a love of writing in my heart, a good friend of mine spurred me to write a book because ‘why not?’. What began as a chaotic jumble of notes in a glitching Google Doc, slowly evolved into a sprawling epic. That experience revealed my ambition to be a true writer, one I’ve carried for years. One I will fight for to achieve.

A large part of my life is dedicated to both writing and studying. Still, I seek other fantasy avenues through reading, playing DND with a great group, and the occasional videogame if I have time. Beyond that, I seek to make use of what little sun my country graces us with, by having a beer with friends. I also tend to get lost in historical rabbit holes, get emotional about fictional character deaths, buy historical weaponry, and travel to places that look like my favourite fictional worlds.

My current goal is to make stories that I (and hopefully you) love. Ones that feel alive, messy, thoughtful, and full of heart. The stories that leave you thinking after the final page, make you mutter the occasional ‘oh no’ and ‘wtf’, or at least offer introspection about our real world while letting you escape it a moment.
