Who Even Am I

Julius Benjamin Jonker (JBJ) is an indie fantasy author since publishing his debut, Echoes of the Past, on April 2, 2026. While living in the city of Rotterdam, JBJ studies in Utrecht. There, he’s known less than a writer and more as a student of Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and History—better known as PPE (the h is silent). Thus, whenever not occupied by realms of fiction, JBJ seeks to understand the social elements of our international world, and respectfully participate in political events when they seek to promote international connectivity, cultural understanding, stronger equality, climate awareness, and anti-fascism.
Yet JBJ spends the majority of his time dreaming of the fictional. Having always been fascinated by stories, especially within the realm of fantasy, and having conjured up entire worlds on childhood playgrounds ensured ample training to become a writer. A dream which was planted within him during his teenage years, when a good friend simply asked, ‘why not try to become a fantasy writer?’
Thus, the idea of The King’s Pride Saga was birthed, an epic fantasy sprawling multiple books with the central philosophy of writing what JBJ would consider his own favourite fantasy book, were he not its author. Through this journey, an ambition to become a genuine writer was discovered, which subsequently could never be fully quelled, even upon realising the many impracticalities of following this career path.
This means a large part of JBJ’s life is dedicated to writing fantasy. Still, other fantasy avenues are also sought through reading, playing D&D, a bit of theatre, video-games, cosplays, acquiring medieval weaponry, and RenFaire’s.
